Comine June 2026
Cole Sawires, LPC Associate Supervised by Marie Luna, LPC-S

Hello, my name is Cole Sawires, and I am currently a graduate student at Texas Tech University, working toward my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. As a compassionate and dedicated aspiring counselor, I am deeply committed to supporting and empowering individuals, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community. I hold two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from University of Colorado Colorado Springs, which I completed in May 2021.

I am passionate about creating a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their identities, relationships, and experiences with authenticity. I have a special passion for supporting genderqueer, nonbinary, transgender, and LGBTQIA+ individuals as they navigate identity development, self-acceptance, relationships, family dynamics, and the impact of societal stressors. I believe therapy should be a place where every person feels seen, respected, and celebrated for who they are.

My approach to counseling is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and cultural humility. Coming from a diverse background, I understand the importance of recognizing how culture, community, and lived experiences shape the way we understand ourselves and move through the world. Adulthood can often feel like an endless series of hurdles, transitions, and expectations, and I strive to offer supportive guidance, fresh perspectives, and practical tools to help clients navigate those challenges with greater confidence and resilience.

I also value helping clients build empowered and healthy relationships with their sexuality. Whether clients are exploring sexual identity, healing from shame, strengthening communication with partners, deepening intimacy, or defining what authentic sexuality means for them, I aim to provide a respectful and affirming space for that work. I believe sexuality can be an important part of overall wellness, self-expression, and connection to self and others when explored through a lens of consent, empowerment, and self-compassion.

I am a strong advocate for mental health and enjoy helping clients through life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and new encounters that can feel overwhelming. Every person’s journey is unique, and I believe meaningful change begins by honoring your story, recognizing your strengths, and moving toward the version of yourself you most want to become. Whether you are facing a difficult season or simply seeking deeper self-understanding, counseling can be a powerful space for healing and growth.

I’m originally from Round Rock, and outside of my professional life I enjoy embracing creativity and fun. I love tattoos, baking, playing Dungeons & Dragons, finding thrills in scary movies, and visiting haunted houses.

Coaching Versus Therapy

These are two VERY different experiences.  You get to choose what serves you best in your life today.

As a therapist, Bethany listens and uses evidence-based approaches that she's learned in school and in trainings.  It's such valuable work.  We dive deep in the trauma and the pain of the past, and we explore different ways to frame and shape those experiences.  As a therapy client, you will gain psycho-education and knowledge of current research-based practices and be challenged to implement changes in your thoughts, feelings and actions.

As a coach, Bethany is a mirror: reflecting and channeling.  She is a vessel and uses her energetic responses and embodied experiences to support you.  As a coaching client, we focus on upleveling your experience through energetic, embodied practices, accessing your consciousness through accessing the collective healing of the Universe.

Bethany is the same person, but these are two VERY different healing experiences she uses to support you.  As a therapist, Bethany does not discuss religion or spirituality without prompting; however, as a coach, our entire work is focused on accessing the energies of the Universe and ourselves.

Artistic Truths

The logo of Phoenix Moon Healing is in the shape of a moon to signify our connection to the earth and our spirit animals.  It is a call to remember to access the parts of us that the world has quieted with its structure, rules and bullshit.  A call to howl at the moon and access our aligned self that is raw and vulnerable, to bring the yin and the yang of the feminine and masculine energies.  The phoenix signifies our constant evolution, becoming and unbecoming, all the same and all different.  The phoenix is our steady energetic signature of strength as we activate and access our highest self.
