Cole Sawires, LPC Associate supervised by Marie Luna, M.Ed, LPC-S
Hello, my name is Cole Sawires, and I am a LPC Associate supervised by Marie Luna, LPC-S. As a compassionate and dedicated aspiring counselor, I am deeply committed to supporting and empowering individuals, particularly within the LGBTQIA+ community. I graduated from Texas Tech with a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I hold two bachelor’s degrees in Psychology and Criminal Justice from University of Colorado Colorado Springs, which I completed in May 2021.
I am passionate about creating a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients can explore their identities, relationships, and experiences with authenticity. I have a special passion for supporting genderqueer, nonbinary, transgender, and LGBTQIA+ individuals as they navigate identity development, self-acceptance, relationships, family dynamics, and the impact of societal stressors. I believe therapy should be a place where every person feels seen, respected, and celebrated for who they are.
My approach to counseling is grounded in empathy, collaboration, and cultural humility. Coming from a diverse background, I understand the importance of recognizing how culture, community, and lived experiences shape the way we understand ourselves and move through the world. Adulthood can often feel like an endless series of hurdles, transitions, and expectations, and I strive to offer supportive guidance, fresh perspectives, and practical tools to help clients navigate those challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
I also value helping clients build empowered and healthy relationships with their sexuality. Whether clients are exploring sexual identity, healing from shame, strengthening communication with partners, deepening intimacy, or defining what authentic sexuality means for them, I aim to provide a respectful and affirming space for that work. I believe sexuality can be an important part of overall wellness, self-expression, and connection to self and others when explored through a lens of consent, empowerment, and self-compassion.
I am a strong advocate for mental health and enjoy helping clients through life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, relationship challenges, and new encounters that can feel overwhelming. Every person’s journey is unique, and I believe meaningful change begins by honoring your story, recognizing your strengths, and moving toward the version of yourself you most want to become. Whether you are facing a difficult season or simply seeking deeper self-understanding, counseling can be a powerful space for healing and growth.
I’m originally from Round Rock, and outside of my professional life I enjoy embracing creativity and fun. I love tattoos, baking, playing Dungeons & Dragons, finding thrills in scary movies, and visiting haunted houses.
Cole is accepting Aetna.
Cole will be leading a virtual DnD Group as well.

Jenn Harris, LPC Associate supervised by Marie Luna, M.Ed, LPC-S
Hello! My name is Jenn Harris, and I graduated with a master's degree Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Texas Tech in May 2025. I earned my BA in English in 2010, also from Tech.
For past 14 years, I have been a high school teacher here in Lubbock, primarily teaching English and psychology. As I move into this new facet of my career, I am looking forward to continuing my work with adolescents, and would welcome the chance to work with their families as well.
Additionally, as a teacher, I am well-versed, both personally and professionally, in the highs and lows of working in a helping profession. I would welcome the opportunity to help anyone navigate the complex emotions involved in creating a healthy work-life balance.
In counseling, I use a variety of counseling techniques and theories including narrative, solution-focused, strengths-based, and systems theories.

Sarah Sherwood, Grad Intern supervised by Bethany Luna, M.S., LMFT-S
Hi, I’m Sarah. I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Texas Tech University with a passion for working with individuals navigating disordered eating, anxiety, depression, and grief. I am especially drawn to supporting clients who feel stuck in cycles of shame, overwhelm, or disconnection, and I aim to walk alongside them as they move toward healing, clarity, and a stronger sense of self.
My approach to counseling is grounded in trauma-informed care, recognizing the ways past experiences can shape present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I primarily draw from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), helping clients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and values-based living. I believe meaningful change happens when we learn to both accept our internal experiences and take intentional steps toward the life we want to live.
I have a special interest in working with women and young adults, particularly those navigating life transitions, identity development, and the pressure of “holding it all together.” Whether addressing disordered eating patterns, processing loss, or managing anxiety, I strive to help clients build practical coping skills, increase self-awareness, and reconnect with their values.
My personal faith is an important part of who I am and how I understand meaning, healing, and resilience. At the same time, I deeply respect each client’s unique background and experiences, including those who have been hurt in religious spaces. I welcome conversations around spirituality when they are meaningful to you, and I strive to create a space that is safe, nonjudgmental, and honoring of your individual beliefs, values, and story.
My goal as a counselor is to create a space that feels safe, steady, and collaborative—where you feel seen, heard, and understood. Together, we will work toward breaking unhelpful patterns, strengthening resilience, and helping you move toward a life that feels more balanced, purposeful, and aligned with who you are. I would be honored to walk with you in that process.
Sarah is accepting new individuals on Mon, Wed and Thursday.

Melonie Brown, Grad Intern supervised by Bethany Luna, M.S., LMFT-S
I am currently completing my Marriage and Family Therapy internship and will earn my Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Abilene Christian University. I also hold a Master’s in Education in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Educational Diagnostics from West Texas A&M University. With more than 16 years of experience in education as both a teacher and Educational Diagnostician, I bring a deep understanding of child development, learning differences, school systems, and the unique needs of children and adolescents and the impact to families.
I am especially passionate about supporting children with disabilities and the families who care for them. I understand that parenting and caregiving can be deeply rewarding while also carrying unique emotional, relational, and practical challenges. Families often navigate stress, advocacy within school systems, medical or developmental concerns, sibling dynamics, and the ongoing balance of meeting everyone’s needs. My goal is to provide a compassionate and affirming space where families feel understood, supported, and empowered.
I view therapy as a collaborative process where each person brings valuable strengths, resilience, and insight. I work to create a warm, safe, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can openly explore challenges, process emotions, and build meaningful tools for growth. My approach is relational, strengths-based, and tailored to the unique needs of each child, individual, couple, or family I serve. I believe lasting change happens when people feel seen, respected, and supported.
My clinical interests include working with children, adolescents, and families experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, emotional regulation difficulties, behavioral concerns, and family stress. I also support clients navigating life transitions such as divorce, co-parenting, blended family dynamics, and single parenting. In addition, I enjoy helping caregivers strengthen communication, increase confidence in their parenting, and create healthier patterns of connection within the family system.
Drawing from both my therapeutic training and educational background, I can also support families as they navigate school-related concerns, learning accommodations, IEP/504 processes, and the emotional impact that academic or developmental challenges can have on a child and family. I am committed to helping clients build on their existing strengths, foster resilience, and move toward meaningful and sustainable change.
Melonie is accepting clients on Mon, Wed and Fri from 3 to 8pm.

Karlie Oldham, ACU Grad Intern supervised by Bethany Luna, M.S., LMFT-S
Hi, I’m Karlie. I’m a Marriage & Family Therapist Graduate Intern from Abilene Christian University, and I work from a systems perspective because I believe we all grow, struggle, and heal in the context of our relationships and environments. I am passionate about walking alongside individuals, couples, and families as they move through challenges, transitions, and patterns that no longer serve them.
My work includes helping clients improve communication, navigate conflict, strengthen attachment, shift unhelpful family dynamics, and build skills that support healthier connection. I have a heart for single parents—helping them find steadiness, support, and practical tools—and for clients healing from trauma, offering a grounded, compassionate space to rebuild safety and resilience.
Whether supporting partners through relational strain, guiding families toward more effective interaction, or helping individuals understand how their broader system shapes their wellbeing, I want to offer a space for safety of expression. I also enjoy working with college-aged adults who are figuring out identity, independence, stress, and the pressure of “getting it right.”
My hope is to offer a space that feels steady, warm, and collaborative, where you can strengthen your relationships, break old cycles, build resilience, and move toward the version of yourself you want to become.
Karlie is accepting new clients on Tuesdays and Thursdays afternoon and evenings.

Virginia Monreal, ACU Grad Intern supervised by Bethany Luna, M.S., LMFT-S
I am passionate about providing compassionate, developmentally attuned care to children, adolescents, and their families. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and collaborative therapeutic environment where young people feel seen, heard, and valued. I believe that healing and growth happen within the context of safe relationships, and I work to foster a space where youth and caregivers can explore challenges with openness and trust.
My approach is grounded in a systemic and relational lens, recognizing that each individual is shaped by their family, relationships, and broader environment. I enjoy working with individuals, couples and families as they navigate emotional, relational, and developmental transitions, including anxiety, identity development, family dynamics, peer relationships, and life stressors. I integrate evidence-based practices with a strengths-based perspective, helping clients build emotional awareness, resilience, and practical coping skills.
I also incorporate Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) into my work. This approach helps clients identify their existing strengths, resources, and moments when problems feel more manageable. Rather than focusing solely on the problem, SFBT encourages clients to envision what meaningful change looks like and to take small, achievable steps toward that vision. This approach can be especially helpful for individuals managing anxiety, navigating life stressors, and couples experiencing relational conflict, as it supports clients in recognizing their capabilities, improving communication, and building practical strategies that promote lasting change.
I am dedicated to partnering with clients to support meaningful and sustainable change. Through empathy, curiosity, and collaboration, my goal is to empower clients to better understand themselves, strengthen their relationships, and move toward greater confidence and well-being.
Virginia is accepting new clients on Fridays and Saturdays.

Brooke Barker, Grad Intern supervised by Bethany Luna, M.S., LMFT-S
I am a Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate student at Texas Tech University, and I am passionate about working with children, adolescents, and adults from all walks of life. I strive to create a safe, compassionate, and collaborative space where clients feel seen, heard, and genuinely valued. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for meaningful growth, and I aim to foster an environment where individuals feel comfortable exploring their thoughts, emotions, and experiences.
My approach to counseling is grounded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution-Focused techniques. Through CBT, I support clients in identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns, building emotional awareness, and developing practical coping strategies. I also incorporate Solution-Focused approaches to help clients recognize their strengths, clarify their goals, and take small, intentional steps toward meaningful and lasting change.
I have a strong interest in supporting individuals managing anxiety, depression, and life transitions. Whether you are navigating stress, changes in relationships, academic or career pressures, or personal challenges, I work alongside you to build resilience, increase confidence, and develop tools that support your overall well-being.
