EMDR Intensives
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) for 3 to 6 hours at a time versus weekly therapy
We meet for 3 to 6 hours at a time, which allows us to explore a concentrated block of therapeutic work. This approach is designed to provide a continuous and effective journey without the start and stop nature of weekly therapy.
Why an EMDR Intensive?
-
More Time to Live your Life Fully
Intensives can eliminate weeks/months of living with trauma symptoms. Devoting every minute of every session to EMDR is the hard part of weekly therapy. Things come up in daily life and sessions are often spent problem solving, safety planning, and understanding emotions about situations, which are important but do not necessarily relieve symptoms of trauma.
-
Saves Money
1 intensive segment is equivalent to 6 to 8 weeks of weekly therapy
-
More Focused Therapy
Process one significant trauma or multiple traumas in a shorted timeframe without the impacts of life stressors that can occur over a 6 – 8 week period.
-
Rapid Results in Symptom Reduction
Some studies show that 84-90%of single-trauma victims no longer have PTSD after 3 sessions of EMDR. End sessions with lower levels of distress and with potentially fewer side effects following treatment sessions due to the intensive format.
-
Unlock Truths about Yourself
Intensives allow you to make rapid connections between your current symptoms, past experiences and core beliefs developed throughout your life. This process allows clients to unlock aspects of themselves to understand their responses from a completely different perspective.
Who Am I?
Hi! I’m Marie, what truly defines my approach is my dual identity as a therapist and a yoga instructor. I have a deep passion for helping my clients find change through top down (conscious to unconscious) and bottom up therapy modalities (unconscious to conscious). My expertise lies in intuitively moving through EMDR processing with clients and providing the necessary grounding techniques needed to support rapid trauma processing. I incorporate IFS, somatic and polyvagal theory into my therapeutic work daily.
The Benefits
Enhanced Trauma Resolution
EMDR’s rapid trauma memory processing and advanced protocols assist me in facilitating profound and lasting trauma resolution for clients.
Bottom-Up Therapy
EMDR taps into the innate healing capacity of the body and the nervous system. EMDR allows you to access and release emotional charge associated with disturbing memories. It bypasses conscious thinking mind and direct targets the underlying neural networks involved in trauma processing.
Enhanced Stability and Regulation
Through the nervous system transformation that occurs from desensitizing memories allows for a calmer emotional baseline. EMDR can help you cultivate a sense of safety within yourself and in your relationships.

Adjunctive EMDR means you are seeing another therapist and you want to use EMDR as an add-on therapy to help process specific issues.
Yes, I offer adjunctive EMDR in an intensive format. These sessions would be highly focused and short-term. I encourage clients to maintain their relationship with their primary therapist throughout the EMDR treatment and request an ROI so that I can collaborate care with the client’s primary therapist.
We are able to offer sessions in person or virtual.
