SofÃa Hernández Gómez, M.Ed., LPC Associate, supervised by Marie Luna, M.Ed, LPC-S
Hi, my name is SofÃa Hernández Gómez, I am a Licensed Professional Counselor
Associate, born in Mexico City. I consider myself a bicultural person, as I was raised
throughout my life in both countries Mexico, and United States, this has given me the ability to empathize and understand the acculturation process. In 2013, I graduated from Universidad del Valle de Mexico with my bachelor’s in psychology and completed my master’s in counseling from West Texas A&M University in 2022.
In my professional background experience, I’ve had the honor working in
psychiatric hospitals and non-profit organizations in individual and group modalities. Facilitating programs of grief, survivors of suicide, battering intervention and prevention in domestic violence that has prepared me to engage with different populations.
I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults through art therapy, as a
transformative and insightful tool to the inner workings of the mind and emotional state.Having a creative visual outlet to express your experiences, offering a space to start
recognizing your strengths, develop self-awareness, improve social skills, address
unresolved conflicts, increase self-esteem, leading to empowerment.
One of my goals as a therapist is to create a safe environment where anyone can feel
comfortable to express, through the feeling of unconditional positive regard, empathy,
and compassion, to start the healing process and endure the hardships of life by
building resilience, cultivating new coping skills, exploring the connections between the mind, body, and emotions. Another goal of mine is to advocate for minorities groups, providing support for a population whose language barrier can get in the way to acquire help.
I truly believe that everyone has the ability to achieve growth, to heal and expand their
potential to become their best possible self’s. It would be my honor to navigate and
explore all those uncharted places next to you.
¡Hablo español! Me encantarÃa acompañarte durante tu proceso de afrontar cualquier adversidad.

been a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) for the past 10 years. I have professional experience

Saruhen (Santana) Lopez, Grad Intern supervised by Bethany Luna, M.Ed, LMFT-S
Hi, I am Saruhen Santana Lopez, an Abilene Christian University marriage and family therapy graduate intern.
My life experiences led me to be passionate about helping others. I believe in creating meaningful connections with family and others. I have made one of my life goals to help others start or access the tools they already possess to thrive and that looks different for each individual.
It is crucial to connect with clients in a way that would create a safe space for sharing any issues or stressors. I am excited to work with couples and individuals, from adults to teens. Every relationship is essential, and I want to help others thrive. In a more personal aspect, I want to give others what once was given to me, and that was the power to lead a life where I was aware of my struggles but had the resources to make it through. For me, life is precious, and I would not like anyone to miss the experience of a healthy life with others but, more importantly, with themselves.
I also provide services in Spanish for Spanish-speaking preferred clients. I respect cultural diversity and celebrate differences and similarities in cultures and individuals. I utilize solution-focused brief therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy to help individuals manage and find the preferred outcome in life. I firmly believe that therapy is a space where change starts, and my goal is to work with each individual who steps into my room to make a long-lasting change if change is necessary.
¡Hablo español! Me encantarÃa acompañarte durante tu proceso de afrontar cualquier adversidad.

Hallie Oden, SAS Grad Intern, supervised by Bethany Luna, LMFT-S
Hi, my name is Hallie Oden, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern currently completing my Master of Education in Counseling at Angelo State University. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Texas Tech University, where I graduated in 2021. My journey into the counseling field began after several years of working in the nonprofit sector, where I had the privilege of serving and advocating for marginalized communities across Texas. That work opened my eyes to the deep need for accessible, affirming, and compassionate mental health care especially for those whose voices are often unheard.
I am passionate about creating inclusive, LGBTQIA + affirming spaces for all clients, with a focus on supporting young adults navigating the complexities of identity, anxiety, self-worth, and life transitions. My professional background has shaped my desire to meet individuals exactly where they are, walking alongside them as they explore their emotions, experiences, and goals at their own pace.
I approach counseling through a person-centered, trauma-informed lens, believing that each individual’s path to healing is deeply personal and deserving of respect. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is warm, empathetic, and nonjudgmental where clients feel seen, valued, and empowered to take meaningful steps forward.
Seeking support for your mental health takes courage, and I commend you for taking the first step. It would be an honor to join you on your journey, helping you tap into your own resilience, deepen self understanding, and build the tools to thrive through life’s challenges.

Claire Ramirez-Yocum, WTAMU Grad Intern supervised by Marie Luna, LPC-S
My name is Claire Ramirez-Yocum, and I’m a Clinical Mental Health Counseling
graduate intern at West Texas A&M University. I received my bachelor’s degree in
Human Development and Family Studies from Texas Tech University in 2016, and I’ve
spent my career focused on supporting people through life’s most difficult and
transformative moments.
My passion lies in helping adults who are navigating the lasting effects of trauma,
anxiety, depression, and PTSD. I take a trauma-informed and empathic approach to
counseling, offering a space where you can feel safe, respected, and empowered to
share your story. I believe that healing happens in the presence of compassion,
understanding, and authentic connection.
As a therapist, I want you to feel like you can show up fully—without judgment or fear. I
aim to build a relationship based on trust, where unconditional positive regard and
empathy are always present. Whether you're exploring past pain or learning how to
cope with present challenges, I’m here to support you as you build resilience and move
toward healing.
I work primarily with adults and am committed to providing culturally responsive care. I
understand the importance of feeling seen and validated, and I strive to meet each
client where they are with openness and respect.
In our work together, I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered
Therapy, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). These approaches help us explore
thoughts, emotions, and relational patterns so that you can feel more grounded,
capable, and in control of your life.
Outside of the counseling office, I’m a proud West Texas native who finds peace and
inspiration in nature. I love spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking, exploring new
trails, or heading out on a spontaneous road trip. You can often find me with an iced
coffee in hand, soaking up the sun or planning my next adventure. These quiet,
grounding moments help me recharge and stay connected to the present. I strive to
bring the same sense of balance, authenticity, and meaningful connection into my work
as a counselor, creating a space where clients feel supported and truly seen.
It’s an honor to walk alongside those who are doing the hard work of healing. I aim to
walk alongside each person in their journey, offering presence, hope, and support every
